Julie Delpy si unirà al cast di The Entertainment System Is Down, di Ruben Östlund, vincitore di due palme d’oro al Festival di Cannes. L’attrice di Prima dell’alba si unisce a un cast che comprende Kirsten Dunst, Daniel Brühl, Keanu Reeves, Nicholas Braun, Tobias Menzies, Connor Swindells, Daniel Webber, Wayne Blair, Dan Wyllie, Lindsay Duncan, Allan Corduner, Sofia Tjelta Sydness, Erin Ainsworth, Myles Kamwendo, Elle Piper, Thibaud Dooms, Sanna Sundqvist, Tea Stjärne, l’artista svedese Benjamin Ingrosso e Sanjeev Bhaskar. Il film è ambientato su un volo intercontinentale tra Inghilterra e Australia, dove il sistema di intrattenimento fallisce e i passeggeri sono costretti ad affrontare l’orrore della noia. Il due volte candidato all’Oscar Östlund ha vinto la Palma d’oro due volte nel 2022 per la sua commedia politica Triangle of Sadness e nel 2017 per The Square.

Delpy ha di recente scritto, diretto e interpretato Meet the Barbarians, presentato in anteprima al TIFF e che sarà il film di apertura del Miami Film Festival il 3 aprile. Di recente Delpy ha terminato le riprese della serie limitata di Matt Charman The Choice per Netflix, in cui interpreta il ruolo del presidente francese. The Entertainment System is Down è prodotto da Plattform Produktion (Svezia) con Essential Films (Germania) e Parisienne de Production (Francia).
